“Saber-Toothed Cat” Petroglyph @ Red Tank Draw, Southeast of Sedona, AZ
The funny thing about this is that I stumbled upon this site completely by accident! I was boondock camping on the prairie above the mini-canyon and eventually got around to the canyon hike, having no idea what was there! Unbeknownst to me, RTD is a well-known petroglyph area and the main site is easily accessible by following a trail from the prairie. This particular set though is away from the main site following the creek north (or south from the top as I did) and requires some bushwhacking. #petroglyphs #archaeology #ruins #Sedona #hiking #arizona #backpacking #canyon #camping #boondocking
